Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of one year License: Current RN License (Single State or Compact) Certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA) Must-Have: Experience in progressive care or intermediate care Description: We are a 32-bed unit that manages drips and more acute patients. The nurse will perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The nurse will evaluate health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data. Health teaching and counseling will be provided as part of the role. Therapy and treatment will be delivered that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being, either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others. Delegated medical functions will be executed effectively. Patients will be referred as needed for further evaluation or treatment. Ongoing monitoring of therapy and treatment plans will be a priority. Documentation will be completed in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Resources will be used as needed to promote effective patient care. The nurse will promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and adhere to service behavior standards. Other duties may be assigned as necessary. Floating to other departments may be required based on business needs. The nurse may be required to be placed on-call during regularly scheduled shifts.
