Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Active state RN license or compact license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be able to pass an online EKG Tele competency assessment prior to starting the assignment. Epic experience required. Traveler will float at the discretion of the facility. Traveler must be available to work every other weekend and holiday. Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives. Facility reserves the right to cancel shifts due to low census per contract. Facility reserves the right to cancel the agreement with two weeks' notice without fee or fine. Description: Must have previous charge experience (preferred). Familiarity with patient ratios in a progressive care unit is important. Experience in administering blood products and managing cardiac telemetry is required. Skills in chest tube management and high flow nasal cannula are essential. Ability to perform procedural sedation administration and monitoring is necessary. Experience in interpreting arterial blood gases and managing dysrhythmias is required. Must be comfortable floating to various specialties based on the needs of the unit, including high-risk respiratory units. Wound care and use of rapid response/code teams are vital duties. Candidates must be prepared to handle patients recovering from surgeries, strokes, and other critical conditions. Experience with peritoneal dialysis and management of post-cardiac procedures is beneficial. Candidates should exhibit strong teamwork skills as interdisciplinary support will be available. The unit manages a broad range of patient diagnoses including COPD, renal failure, trauma, and post-surgical care requiring telemetry monitoring. Experience with isolation precautions and personal protective equipment is necessary. Candidates must adhere to all provided regulations and standards of care.
