ID: 76040290 Shift: 12H Nights 12 hr nights Description: Unit : Stepdown *Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS*Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.**Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.****Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract* * RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * * - # of Beds: 33- Ratios: 1:4-5- Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Young adults through geriatrics, sepsis, STEMI, CHF, chest pain, COVID, stroke, renal failure, COPD, DKA, patients with complex medical issues including multisystem failure- Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes- Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Heparin, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, IV antibiotics, Insulin; maintenance doses of IV meds (non titratable)- Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes- Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: CNAs 1:10 ratio- available CNAs fluctuates based on unit census- RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.): BiPAP, Airvo- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Yes, RNs must read and interpret- Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0630-1900, 1830-0700 // Unit schedulers will make travelers schedule- Weekend Requirements: Every other- Holiday Requirements: As needed to meet unit needs- Floating Requirements: Can float to MedSurg, Inpatient Rehab, or Skilled Care- Scrub Color/Dress code: RN: Navy Blue - How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: First week classroom then 2-12 hour shifts on the floor- Additional Notes: Busy patient flow- admitting and discharging within the same 6 hour time frame while also completing shift change.
