Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,215 per week in Columbus, OH

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 1 Year of Recent PCU Experience Preferred License: Valid Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS and ACLS Required Description: Candidates with only 1 year of experience may now be considered, but they will not receive automatic offers. Their profiles will need to be reviewed by the manager. The unit has 22 beds in 16 rooms with an average daily census of 20. The patient population consists of adults and geriatrics. Common cases include burns, plastic and reconstructive surgery, urology, gynecology, and ENT procedures. Special procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy. The shift schedule is for 12-hour nights, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Every other or third weekend is required. Floating within the organization is required. Previous charge RN experience is preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred. The documentation system used is EPIC. The unit utilizes a medication management system. Candidates must have experience with arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care and management, feeding tube care and management, and heparin protocols. Interpretation of dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, and management of dysrhythmias are also required skills. Candidates should be skilled in IV insulin protocols, telemetry, and wound care management. The unit has interdisciplinary support from various teams including pharmacy, respiratory services, and physical therapy. Candidates should be aware of the urgency of the credentialing process. References are required and must include one from a manager or supervisor. Education must be from an accredited program. Candidates must comply with all onboarding processes promptly.
