Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PCU experience License: Valid RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - IV start experience - Telemetry experience - Previous travel experience preferred Description: This position requires flexibility with scheduling, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Nurses are required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity levels as needed. Estimated patient ratios are 1:3. Skills required include IV management, high flow nasal cannula usage, and the interpretation of dysrhythmias. Candidates must have experience with managing cardiac drips without titration. The unit handles a wide variety of patient diagnoses, including renal, hepatology, cardiology, and pulmonology. Special procedures include starting pressors, with patients then transferred to ICU as necessary. The unit also specializes in adult cystic fibrosis patients. Additional interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Special equipment utilized includes lift equipment and IV ultrasound machines. Candidates must be cooperative with the credentialing process and timely with required documentation. Two professional references are required, one of which must be from a managerial or supervisory position. Candidates must have completed relevant nursing education from an accredited program.
