Must-Have:
Must be able to pass the telemetry test.
Experience in monitoring telemetry patients required.
Epic experience is required.
General nursing skills such as IV starts, monitoring, lab work, medication administration, and patient education are essential.
Description:
The role requires proficiency in telemetry patient monitoring.
Candidates must have strong general nursing skills including IV starts, medication administration, and lab work.
Experience in both BLS and ACLS certifications is mandatory.
Skills in blood product administration, central line care/management, and dysrhythmia interpretation are essential.
Knowledge of precautions, protocols, and guidelines regarding isolation and insulin management is required.
Must be familiar with respiratory management, wound care, and the use of PCA pumps.
Nurses are expected to float to other areas if not needed on their primary unit.
Weekend coverage is necessary.
References from previous supervisors or managers are required.
The ability to manage a patient ratio of 4-5:1 on the telemetry unit and 3-4:1 in progressive care is expected.
Candidates should be ready to comply with credentialing requirements promptly.
The role involves working with multidisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
Experience in surgical step-down or post-surgical overflow units is preferred.
