Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, CPI/MOAB Must-Have: Cerner EMR experience required. Telemetry experience preferred. Description: The Medical Care Unit is a setting for patients with less acute conditions. Patients may be awaiting placement in a long-term care facility. The patient population may have a variety of medical diagnoses. Nurses may float between this unit and Inpatient Rehabilitation as needed. Inpatient Rehabilitation is designated for intense rehabilitation services. The nursing process includes assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Care is delivered in coordination with other health team members. The nurse interacts effectively with patients and significant others. High standards of professional nursing are maintained. Care is provided to diverse patient populations including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and those with psychiatric issues. Travelers are not part of a regular call rotation but may be placed on call during low census periods. If called in, the traveler is expected to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Estimated hours per week are 36. Weekend rotation is required. Floating between units is necessary.
