Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM), every other weekend Experience: 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Acute care nursing, patient assessment, care plan development, care plan implementation, clinical intervention monitoring Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective, patient-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The role emphasizes professional development through evidence-based practice and education. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction. Education and professional experiences are applied in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff. Responsibilities include performing assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient conditions. The RN demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Initiating, prioritizing, and implementing the plan of care is essential. Collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services is necessary. Utilizing resources appropriately supports the needs of patients and families. The RN monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions. Facilitating and evaluating education specific to patient and family needs is vital. The RN delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Mentoring and encouraging teamwork among staff is a key responsibility. Identifying opportunities for improvement and participating in quality and safety initiatives is expected. Compliance with regulatory standards is crucial. Participation in the Practice Governance model is part of the role.
