Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in telemetry, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and patient care management Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care Unit. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients with complex medical conditions. Ratios will be typically 1:5 and may flex to 1:6 on rare occasions. The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of relevant nursing experience. First-time travelers will not be accepted for this position. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments may be required as needed. The nurse is expected to cover 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule. Floating between units may be necessary to meet facility needs. The patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Daily census and patient diagnoses will vary based on unit requirements. The role will involve critical skills such as telemetry interpretation and IV care. Additional experience with tracheostomy care, PCA management, and wound care is preferred. Interdisciplinary support will be available, including therapy and social services.
