Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hour nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours guaranteed per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience; IMC/PCU experience is a plus License: Must possess a valid RN license Certifications: - American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - NIH Stroke Scale Certification Must-Have: - RN must have at least 2 years of ICU experience Description: This RN is responsible for managing high acuity patients who are often too critical for a medical/surgical floor but may not require an ICU level of care. The team is skilled in caring for populations such as those with sepsis, diabetic ketoacidosis, post open-heart procedures, continuous cardiac infusions, and those requiring acute continuous non-invasive ventilation (i.e., BiPAP/CPAP). These patients require continuous cardiac and respiratory monitoring. The RN will be prepared to intervene quickly to any changes in hemodynamics or respiratory demands. The RN is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating an individualized plan of care for their patients. The RN serves as an advocate and educator to patients and their families. This role is situated in a fast-paced, teamwork-driven environment providing high acuity care to critically ill patients.
