Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,236 per week in Oklahoma City, OK

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Nephrology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience required, with Med/Surg and Stepdown experience preferred. Charge experience is a significant plus. License: Current RN License or a current multistate compact RN License. Certifications: Current Basic Life Support certification from an accredited provider. Must-Have: - Knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures. - Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques. - Good verbal and written communication skills. - Ability to respond effectively to diverse cultural and language needs of patients and visitors. - Some computer skills. Description: Under general supervision, provides nursing care in a hospital to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients. Documents patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments. Notes all changes in physician orders for assigned patients. Assists physician in the examination of patients and in performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments. Obtains and monitors physiological data of patients. Observes physiological manifestations of patients and intervenes when necessary. Administers medication as prescribed. Initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products. Delivers patient care competently. Interacts with family and patients in sharing care plans while in the hospital and at the time of discharge. Informs patients and families of hospital procedures. Makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel. Delegates tasks to support staff. Performs other duties as assigned. Should be familiar with central line care and management, foley care and management, end-of-life care and management. Knowledge of proper care for a dialysis site is essential, including avoiding the use of an HD catheter or attempting to access a fistula for blood draws.
