Description:
A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients.
The Registered Nurse focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit, promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members.
The RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
The RN focuses on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction.
The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition, demonstrating the ability to make sound independent decisions.
Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care, reviewing and revising the plan as indicated.
Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services, utilizing resources appropriately to support the needs of the patient and family.
Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient and family needs, as appropriate to the care, treatment, and services provided.
Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel and acts as a mentor/preceptor.
Demonstrates teamwork and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts and implements practice changes.
Complies with regulatory standards and participates in governance model processes.
