Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Patient Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of high acuity PCU level or higher required. License: Valid nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required. Oncology certification preferred but not required. Must-Have: - Patient ratio experience of 1:3 in PCU. - Experience with charting systems, specifically Epic. - Skills in managing high acuity patient needs and oncology care. Description: The position is for a registered nurse in an inpatient nursing unit. The focus will be on comprehensive patient care in a specialized environment. Experience in oncology is preferred but not required. Staffing ratios are 1:3, with the possibility of 1:4 in mixed acuity settings. The nurse will float between medical-surgical and patient care unit oncology units as needed. A heavy emphasis is placed on infection prevention protocols and patient safety. Candidates must have charge experience and demonstrate the ability to handle varied patient needs. The role includes responsibilities such as administering chemotherapy and managing IV drips. The nurse will perform wound care, manage telemetry, and assist in various procedures. Candidates must be adaptable to changing schedules, including potential day or night shifts. Professional references are required, with at least one from a supervisor or leadership role.
