Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week. Rotating weekdays and weekends with rotating holiday coverage. 4:1 patient ratio.
Highlights:
Neuro-focused PCU with primary stroke patient population and additional medical-surgical and neurological diagnoses
EPIC charting system utilized across the facility
13-week travel assignment with potential for extension
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, rapid response teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and radiology
Float required within the health system as needed
First-time travelers welcomed (profiles reviewed by manager for candidates with only 1 year of experience)
Requirements:
Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of application)
Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown experience required
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
EPIC EMR experience required
Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Core skills: blood product administration, CVA management, craniotomy care, heparin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, intracranial bleed management, post-TPA care, pre/post neurosurgery care, traumatic brain injury, and general neuro stepdown competencies
Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
2 professional references required: at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference
Prompt completion of Ohio fingerprinting process upon contract signing
