Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio. Some weekend shifts required (3 per contract). Float coverage required within the organization.
Highlights:
Progressive care unit specializing in acute care orthopedic trauma with a diverse case mix including traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, fractures, and post-surgical patients
Epic charting system utilized; telemetry monitoring experience required
72-hour orientation provided to ensure successful onboarding
First-time travelers welcome with at least 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience
Comprehensive interdisciplinary team support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
13-week assignment with opportunity to work in a major academic medical environment
Requirements:
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
Minimum 1 year of progressive care, stepdown, IMC, or DOU experience
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Epic charting experience required
Telemetry monitoring and interpretation experience required
Skills in dysrhythmia management, IV therapy, central line care, blood product administration, and cardiac drip management (titration experience preferred)
Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
Completion of Ohio fingerprinting process required immediately upon contract signing
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
