- Experience in IMC/MS stepdown cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery
- 4:1 patient ratio experience required
- Willingness to float as needed
Description:
Responsible for providing patient care in an Intermediate Care Unit.
Involves managing care for patients pre and post various cardiac surgeries.
Common patient diagnoses include cardio thoracic surgeries, CHF exacerbations, and various dysrhythmias.
Must be familiar with handling patients requiring catheterization lab procedures.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is based on a safe staffing matrix, typically 4 patients per nurse.
The unit specializes in cardiology patients but also admits any type of patient that is MS or IMC status.
Excellent assessment and clinical skills are essential for this role.
Familiarity with electronic charting systems is required.
Candidates must be open to accommodating floating requirements based on facility needs.
No license infractions are allowed for candidacy.
Candidates should be prepared to provide supervisory references upon request.
