Job Title: Step-Down Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years of recent Step-Down experience License: Current Registered Nurse license Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSS Must-Have: Cardiac monitoring Dysrhythmia interpretation IV start and maintenance PICC line management Blood product administration Description: The Step-Down Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in a critical care stepdown unit. The nurse will manage patients with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, and respiratory failure, among others. Experience with post-heart catheterization care and vascular procedure monitoring is essential. Regular assessments will include frequent vital sign and neurovascular checks. The RN will work with a patient ratio of 1:4-5. The expected skills include cardiac monitoring, medication administration, and procedural sedation management. Knowledge of infection prevention and isolation precautions is required. The nurse will also perform phlebotomy as needed. Communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams will be vital for patient care. Candidates must be local and willing to work weekends and holidays as required.
