Description:
This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in a stepdown unit.
The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with cardiac, nephrology, stroke, and diabetes diagnoses.
RNs will be required to titrate drips, including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications.
There is a charge nurse on each shift, who does take an assignment.
The nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 during regular staffing.
Nurse aides or patient care techs are available, with ratios of 1:10 or 2:20.
Weekend requirements include working every other weekend.
Holidays require working every third holiday.
There is no call or standby requirement.
Floating between medical floors, ICU, or rehab may be necessary.
This is a fast-paced environment.
Successful candidates will demonstrate a positive attitude, helpfulness, strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Artificial nails are prohibited in the department providing patient care.
Failure to comply will result in termination of the contract.
RTO requests must be submitted upfront, with limitations on further requests.
The hospital has the right to cancel shifts as per policy.
The charting system used is EPIC.
A valid driver’s license is required for this position.
