Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse for a fast-paced Stepdown unit.
The unit cares for adults and geriatrics with common diagnoses such as cardiac, nephrology, strokes, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring.
Nurses are required to titrate drips, including Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications.
There is a Charge Nurse on each shift who also has an assignment.
Patient care ratios are typically 1:4-5 for nurses and 1:10 or 2:20 for nurse aides.
Weekend and holiday requirements include working every other weekend and every third holiday.
There are no call or standby requirements.
Floating may be required to medical floors, ICU, or rehab.
The first week will focus on onboarding, followed by 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation.
A positive attitude, strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities are essential for success in this role.
Please note, artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care.
Candidates must adhere to the radius rule regarding employment with this health system.
Requests for time off should be provided upfront and subsequent requests may not be approved.
The facility reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts during a 13-week assignment.
Charting is done using the EPIC system.
This position does not require a BSN.
A valid driver's license is necessary for compliance with the radius rule.
