Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Must-Have:
- Previous charge experience
- Patient ratio experience of 3-4 patients
- Experience with Epic charting system
Description:
This position floats between units as needed.
Weekend work is required every other weekend.
Block scheduling is part of this position.
The expected patient ratio is 1:4 on nights.
Special requirements include current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Candidates will provide care for adults with diagnoses such as congestive heart failure, atrial fibrillation, acute respiratory failure, sepsis, syncope, stroke, alcohol withdrawal, chest pain, and DKA.
Key skills include blood product administration, central line care and management, chest tube care, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube management, and high-flow nasal cannula use.
Additional skills include interpretation of arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias, isolation precautions, management of cardiac drips, and telemetry.
Interdisciplinary support will be available from IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services, among others.
The unit has a daily census of approximately 35 patients and operates with a total of 42 beds.
