Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio
Start Date: November 2, 2026 Location: Columbus, Ohio Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-week assignment
Highlights:
31-bed medical-surgical progressive care unit with daily census around 25 patients
Comprehensive patient population including COPD exacerbations, CKD, bacteremia, anemia/GI bleeds, and altered mental status
24 hours of orientation provided to support your transition to the unit
Interdisciplinary team support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
Float required within the organization to support patient care needs across units
First-time travelers accepted with appropriate experience and qualifications
Requirements:
Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience
Must be proficient in CPAP/BiPAP management and medication titrations
Charge nurse capability on night shift is required
Experience with telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, cardiac drip titration, and high-flow nasal cannula
Skills required include chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, PCA pumps, and peripheral line management
Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor)
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
