Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) RN – Ohio
Start Date: November 2, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week with every other or third weekend required. Floating within the hospital system is required as needed.
Highlights:
Specialized progressive care unit focusing on burns, plastic/reconstructive surgery, urology, gynecology, ENT, and oral/maxillofacial surgeries
Unique procedures include burn dressings, flap checks, and leech therapy
Adult and geriatric patient population with diverse case mix
12-month assignment with comprehensive orientation and interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
First-time travelers accepted; candidates with one year of experience will be individually reviewed by the unit manager
Local and travel candidates accepted at the same rate
Requirements:
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
Minimum 1 year of progressive care or step-down nursing experience
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, IV management, arterial line care, central line management, blood product administration, wound care, and management of dysrhythmias
Experience with IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, PCAs, feeding tubes, and surgical drain management
Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisor; second may be from a Charge RN
Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
