Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,272 per week in Bridgeport, WV

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Experience with typical stepdown type patients - Ability to titrate drips - Familiarity with nitroglycerine, neo, and Cardene drips Description: The unit has 18 beds and operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3. Common diagnoses include post-myocardial infarction patients with sheath pulls, ADHS, postoperative vascular cases, GI bleeds, and DKA. Registered Nurses are required to titrate drips, including nitroglycerine up to 150 mcg/kg/min, Neo up to 100 mcg/min, and Cardene up to 10 mg/hr. A charge nurse and house supervisor are available; normally, the charge nurse will not have a team. One patient care technician is scheduled per shift. BiPap and Cpap equipment are available on the unit. All patients are monitored, and Registered Nurses are responsible for reading telemetry strips. Self-scheduling is not guaranteed; scheduling is currently managed via a spreadsheet. Weekend requirements include every other weekend, and holiday requirements are approximately every other holiday. There is no call or standby requirement for this position. Floating to other units may occur as needed. The dress code consists of royal scrubs, with undershirts in white, royal blue, or black. Unit-specific orientation is provided as necessary. Cancellation policy allows for 2 shifts per contract. Charting is done using the EPIC system. A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is not required.
