Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of acute care RN experience License: Registered Nurse Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Two years of acute care RN experience, Epic experience Description: A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are priorities. The RN is responsible for maintaining a financially stable unit. Promoting personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice is essential. Education supported by a Practice Governance framework is encouraged. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction are central to the RN's role. The RN applies educational and professional experiences to deliver quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff are also key responsibilities. Responsibilities include the following: Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments per policy or as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions. Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated.
