Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse – Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or Nights only, rotating schedules based on unit needs); variable weekend coverage; 16-week assignment; staffing ratios goal 1:4, may be 1:5
Highlights:
Mixed acuity Surgical Oncology PCU caring for both PCU and Med Surg patients on a fast-paced surgical floor
Diverse patient population including surgical oncology (breast, thyroid, melanoma), hepatobiliary, colorectal, plastics, orthopedic surgery, and cardiothoracic surgery cases
Procedures include chemotherapy administration, blood transfusions, IV antibiotics, oncologic emergencies, cytokine release syndrome, insulin and heparin drips, and chest tube care
Epic electronic medical record system with GE telemetry monitoring, Alaris pumps, and Stryker beds
Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and social services
Floating may be required to other acute care oncology units within scope of practice
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience, with at least 1 year of PCU experience (must be current and consistent within the last 12 months)
Current RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (ONS Chemo certification preferred)
Epic charting experience required
Experience with cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
Two professional references required (at least one from a manager/director or formal leadership role)

72 hours of orientation provided
