Job Title: Step Down Registered NurseProfession: Registered NurseSpecialty: Step Down/PCUDuration: 13 WeeksShift: Night ShiftHours per Shift: 12 HoursExperience: Minimum of 2 years of current experience in a step down/PCU setting.License: Must hold a valid state license or compact license.Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required.Must-Have:- Ability to float within scope of practice.- Willingness to work every other weekend.- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.- Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:5.Description:This position is for a 34-bed step down/PCU unit.The unit requires a nurse to work with adult and geriatric populations.The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients post-procedure, managing complex medical conditions, and administering medications.All staff members are required to adhere to hospital protocols and standard precautions.Close collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is necessary for optimal patient care.The nurse should have skills in accessing and managing ports, administering blood products, and telemetry monitoring.A comprehensive understanding of cardiac telemetry and CVA management is essential.Routine duties will also include care of patients with tracheostomies and those requiring respiratory support like CPAP/BiPAP.The nurse will be expected to perform ongoing assessments and respond to patient needs promptly.Participation in the orientation process and meeting all training requirements is crucial for success in this role.Continuous professional development and compliance with current health and safety guidelines are mandatory.This position may include a varied schedule across different shifts.
