The nurse will work night shifts. The average daily census is 38 patients. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. First-time travelers are accepted for this role. Candidates will be required to work every other weekend. The clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs. Block scheduling may be accommodated based on manager discussion. Candidates must have experience with cardiac drips and protocols. Additional required skills include isolation precautions and managing IV lines. Charge experience is preferred. Cerner charting experience is required. This facility is a Level I trauma center and a Magnet hospital with a total of 562 beds. The patient demographic includes adults with various conditions, including heart failure and respiratory conditions. Special procedures include cardiac catheterizations and post-operative care from surgeries related to cardiac issues. The nurse will be part of an interdisciplinary team, including respiratory services and pharmacy. The role involves monitoring patients through telemetry and making critical care assessments. Applicants must be prepared for the physical and emotional demands of nursing in an acute care environment. A strong emphasis will be placed on patient care, safety, and effective communication. Teamwork and collaboration with other healthcare professionals are essential in this role. Candidates will be responsible for documentation and patient education as part of their duties. Experience in a teaching hospital is preferred but not mandatory.
