Job Title: Stepdown/PCU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year experience required License: Active IL license required Certifications: BLS and NIH required; ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience - Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency response skills - Gastrointestinal and Genitourinary/Renal management skills - IV therapy and Phlebotomy skills - Neurological/Psychiatric case experience - Orthopedic and Plastic Surgery case experience - Respiratory skills and experience Description: The position is for a Stepdown/PCU RN. The role involves working night shifts. Ratios for patient care are maintained at 1:4. The unit accepts patients of all diagnoses. Every other weekend work is required. Float within the facility is expected based on needs. Candidates must possess skills in interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips. Experience with hemodialysis management and IV therapy is necessary. Candidates should be able to perform procedural sedation administration. Experience with care of ventilated patients and management of tracheostomies is essential. The work environment is fast-paced with high patient throughput. Candidates will not be considered if they have pending licenses. A minimum of 5 days of RTO is preferred. A background check is required prior to employment. All certifications must be up to date at the time of application. Candidates should be able to handle a variety of patient diagnoses and procedures such as craniotomy, post MI care, and skin grafts. The facility is equipped to provide comprehensive patient care with interdisciplinary support. Isolation precautions and advanced wound care knowledge are important. Flexibility and commitment to compliance requirements are essential.
