Job Opportunity – Progressive Care / Medical Oncology RN – Ohio
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Competitive salary with details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or rotating combination based on department needs); 72-hour orientation provided; weekend shifts variable based on unit needs
Highlights:
36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 progressive care beds providing high-acuity patient care
Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU; 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry
Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
Oncology experience preferred but not required – ICU and PCU backgrounds welcome
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years acute care nursing experience with at least 1 year of current PCU experience
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license accepted)
Current certifications: BLS (BCLS), ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and cardiac drip management
Experience with central line/PICC line management, port access, blood product administration, and IV starts
Competency with feeding tube management, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
Willingness to float to equivalent or lower acuity units
Two professional references required (at least one from formal leadership/management)
Previous travel nursing experience preferred
Preferred Skills:
Chemotherapy administration and monitoring experience
IV insulin protocol management and titration experience
Wound care and wound vac management
Arterial line management and surgical drain care
Phlebotomy skills
