Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,308 per week in Bridgeport, WV

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with typical stepdown type patients Description: The unit has 18 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3. Common diagnoses include post-myocardial infarction with sheath pull, ADHS, postoperative vascular cases, gastrointestinal bleeding, and diabetes ketoacidosis. RNs on this unit are required to titrate drips. Common titratable drips include nitroglycerine up to 150 mcg/kg/min, norepinephrine up to 100 mcg/min, and Cardene up to 10 mg/hr. Charge nurses and house supervisors are available, and the charge nurse will not typically have a team assignment. There is one patient care technician per shift to assist. Respiratory equipment, including BiPap and Cpap, is available on the unit. All patients are monitored telemetrically, and RNs are responsible for reading telemetry strips. Weekend requirements include working every other weekend. Holiday requirements follow a schedule, which equates to working about every other holiday. There are no on-call or standby requirements. Floating may be required as needed. Dress code consists of royal scrubs, with undershirts permitted in white, royal blue, or black. Unit-specific orientation is provided as necessary.
