Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,308 per week in Galesburg, IL

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Tele Intermediate Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - Experience in a Tele Intermediate Stepdown unit - Knowledge of Epic EMR system Description: The Tele Intermediate Stepdown unit has 26 beds. Ratios are typically 1:4 or 1:5. There is no charge nurse role as the charge nurse will also take patients. Nurse aides will have a ratio of 1:9. There is a weekend requirement of every other weekend including Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. There is no call requirement expected from staff. Staff are required to work every other holiday. Scrub color is not specified; staff may wear their own scrubs. Central tele monitoring is available with tech support. Common medications administered include Cardizem, Lasix, renal dopamine, and nitroglycerin. There are no vents; however, Bipap, Cpap, and HF/Vapotherm are used. A hospitalist is in-house from 7 AM to 5 PM, followed by an APN with e-hospitalist coverage. There is no IV team available. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. Pharmacy support is accessible 24/7. Nursing staff do not mix medications. Shifts run from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. There is no block scheduling, though efforts will be made to accommodate consecutive night shifts. Travelers are expected to float and will take on the same patient ratio assigned to unit. Floor-specific orientation includes one shift of hospital orientation and two shifts for unit orientation, one during the day and one at night. Common diagnoses include CHF, COVID pneumonia, Afib with RVR, tachy/brady syndrome, and syncope. This facility emphasizes a drug-free environment. A negative drug screen is required before employment.
