Job Title: Registered Nurse

License: RN License (Wisconsin or compact) required.
Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA only)
Must-Have: Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required. Vent and transplant experience required.
Description:
Traveler will work in both the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and the IMC Thoracic unit.
Evening/Night shifts are required, with a schedule of Monday through Friday, every other weekend, and some holidays.
Experience in telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias is essential.
Nurses on this unit provide comprehensive and specialized care to acutely ill adult patients, who may present with multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability.
Specialty populations include patients with cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and those post-lung transplant.
The unit consists of 29 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 for IMC and 1:4 for general care.
Nurses must work in a collaborative environment, advocating for quality patient care.
This is a fast-paced setting, requiring critical thinking and teamwork.
Travelers are required to float as needed within the unit.
A telemetry exam will be required prior to the start of the assignment.
The exam must meet strict passing criteria with two attempts provided.
Failure to pass after three attempts will result in cancellation of the assignment.
Essential skills include managing ventilated patients, central line care, and blood product administration.
Experience in an academic Level I or II trauma center or a similar-sized hospital is required.
Candidates must have completed their two years of acute care experience within the last three years.
Candidates should be prepared to manage patients who are critically ill and require specialized medical attention.
