Description:
Evening/Night shifts are from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.
Monday through Friday with every other weekend required.
Previous charge experience is preferred.
Patient ratio experience is required.
Experience with the Epic charting system is required.
Patients served include adults and geriatrics.
Daily census is around 15 patients.
The unit consists of 15 beds.
Interdisciplinary support includes various teams such as IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Social Services, and Pharmacy.
Common patient diagnoses include vascular surgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and cardiac stepdown patients.
Work involves caring for patients recovering from surgeries and various interventions.
Travelers will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to starting.
Skills needed include management of arterial lines, blood product administration, central line care, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
Experience with high flow nasal cannula and PCA management is preferred.
The environment focuses on patient and family engagement in care planning.
Evidence-based practice is emphasized in daily duties.
Team collaboration to drive quality improvement initiatives is encouraged.
Floating as needed may be required.
