Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,332 per week in Madison, WI

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty License: RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required Vent and transplant experience required Ability to pass a telemetry test prior to start Description: Traveler will work in both IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care and IMC Thoracic units. Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Monday through Friday. Every other weekend and some holidays are required. Nurses on this unit are skilled in providing specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients. Patients may present with multiple comorbidities, a variety of medical diagnoses, and hemodynamic instability. Specialty populations cared for include patients with cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post lung transplant. The unit has 29 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2 for IMC level care. The RN team works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, advocating for quality patient care. Critical thinking and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment. Travelers may be required to float as needed. Preference for candidates with experience in an academic Level I or II trauma center or similar-sized hospital. The assignment requires strong proficiency in the required specialty areas. A telemetry exam will be required prior to starting the assignment, with strict passing criteria. The passing score is 80% or higher. If required, further attempts will be subject to additional criteria.
