Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,332 per week in Omaha, NE

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU/Med Surg/Oncology Duration: 18 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, ONS/ONCC preferred Must-Have: Must pass an open book exam on skills learned during orientation. Must receive a score of 90% or higher to pass the exam. Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care. Description: The unit provides care for adult oncology and trauma patients. There are 18 beds in the unit. First-time travelers are accepted. Oncology experience is preferred but strong PCU experience is acceptable. Charge nurse experience is not required. Ratios for days and nights are 1:4-1:5. Shifts are 12 hours long with the option of self-scheduling. Nursing staff may float to other Med/Surg and PCU units as needed. Common drips and medications include chemotherapy, heparin, Cardizem, and Protonix. RNs occasionally titrate insulin and Cardizem drips. Travelers should be comfortable managing high-flow respiratory equipment. The electronic medical record system is Epic. Intravenous pumps used are Alaris. Additional lift equipment is available in even-numbered rooms. Support staff includes nursing assistants, charge nurses, physical and occupational therapists, case managers, social workers, educators, and dietitians.
