Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: IMC Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in acute care within the last 3 years License: WI RN or compact RN license required Certifications: BLS & ACLS Must-Have: - Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience - Vent and transplant experience - Proficiency in performing telemetry - Charge experience preferred Description: The traveler will work in both the IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and the IMC Thoracic unit. Shifts are from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and some holidays required. The unit cares for acutely ill adult patients presenting with multiple comorbidities and hemodynamic instability. Specialty populations include patients with diagnoses such as cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant. Nurses will provide comprehensive and specialized nursing care in a fast-paced environment. Continuous collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential for ensuring quality patient care. Travelers are required to demonstrate proficiency in various nursing skills, including managing ventilated patients and administering blood products. Nurses will be required to manage and interpret telemetry and other critical care equipment. A telemetry exam must be passed prior to starting, with specific criteria for passing. Unit requires three patient care nurses with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 in IMC and 1:4 in general care. Candidates must have a strong foundation in acute care nursing to be considered for this position. This role will not accept applicants without the necessary experience in critical areas.
