This unit specializes in Level 2 ICU care, including open heart surgery, neuro surgery, and trauma care. There are 24 beds in the unit with a patient ratio of 1:3. Common diagnoses treated include post-open heart, heart failure, respiratory failure, trauma, surgical ICU, and post-stroke care. Nurses will utilize equipment such as IV pumps, monitoring devices, and ventilators. The electronic health record system used is Cerner. The position requires a willingness to float within the unit as needed. Weekend shifts will be required every other week. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
