Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day and Night Rotating Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum of 18 months of permanent experience in the specialty prior to travel. Minimum of 18 months of recent step-down experience; travel experience will suffice. License: Must have a permanent state nursing license or a compact state license in hand. Certifications: American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required. Must-Have: Must work at least every other holiday. ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment completion required during orientation. An acceptable score on both assessments is mandated. One reference from a supervisor, manager, or director in the specialty applying for is required for submission. Description: This position is for a step-down unit. The role may involve floating to other units to care for similar patient populations. Shifts are 3x12 hours, rotating between day and night. Shifts may be variable as needed to meet operational needs. Permanent experience in the specialty is necessary prior to travel. Recent experience in progressive care or PCU is preferred but not mandatory. All required certifications must be current with no pending issues. Candidates must complete required pre-start modules and assignments prior to the start date. A negative drug screen within specified timeframes is required. Background check issues will be reviewed but will not accept applicants with open cases. Candidates cannot have a history of license issues. Nurses and certain staff are temporarily exempt from nicotine-free facility requirements. Candidates will be required to pick up badges and complete fingerprinting onsite prior to starting. This position requires compliance with all facility policies and procedures.
