The staffing goal ratio is 1:4, but can be adjusted to 1:5 based on patient needs. Flexibility in scheduling is required, with no set or blocked scheduling. Self-scheduling requests are accepted to accommodate preferred schedules. There is a heavy focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention. Oncology experience is preferred but not required. Essential skills include telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, as well as central and peripheral line care and management is crucial. Candidates must have a strong understanding of computerized charting systems. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration, with services available such as physical therapy and pharmacy.
