Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night 3x12-hour, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Rotating (may include days depending on departmental needs) and includes weekends; schedules reviewed every 4 weeks and self-schedule requests are accepted prior to finalizing.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert, compassionate nursing care to adults and geriatric patients with acute leukemia and other hematologic conditions
- Safely administer chemotherapy per ONS standards and monitor patients for reactions and complications
- Manage IV therapy, start IVs, perform central line care and central line blood draws, and care for PICC lines
- Administer and monitor blood products and respond appropriately to transfusion needs
- Continuously monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and activate Rapid Response Teams when indicated
- Implement and champion infection prevention protocols and patient falls prevention strategies
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in EPIC
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, physical and respiratory therapy, radiology, and social services to optimize patient outcomes
- Support orientation and precepting activities to help onboard new team members
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred or equivalent nursing education
Knowledge & Skills
- Medical-Surgical Telemetry (MS/Tele) and telemetry monitoring
- Chemotherapy administration and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias and cardiac monitoring
- IV therapy, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs
- Central line care, central line sterile dressing changes, and central line blood draws
- PICC line management and port access/care
- Blood product administration and transfusion monitoring
- Feeding tube care and management
- Infection prevention practices and patient falls prevention
- Use of Rapid Response Teams and recognition of oncologic emergencies (e.g., tumor lysis syndrome, sepsis)
- EPIC electronic charting proficiency
- NIHSS preferred
