Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,419 per week in Uniontown, PA

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Profession: Nursing Specialty: Float Pool (Med Surg Tele/Stepdown) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: BLS is required. ACLS and NIHSS certifications are required. Description: Float Pool RNs are needed to float between Med Surg, Telemetry, and Stepdown units. The Flex Team floats to various Med Surg units and Stepdown units. In Med Surg units, typical patient loads are as follows: One Med Surg unit has 28 beds, all private. Another Med Surg unit has 29 beds, all private. Charge nurses and house supervisors are available to support the staff. On nights, there is a resource nurse who takes a full patient assignment. All patients on these units are monitored remotely by a dedicated monitor technician. The unit accommodates a diverse range of patients, including post-surgical, orthopedic, Med Surg, pneumonia, dialysis, palliative care, hospice, and oncology. Nurses must be comfortable managing both 'clean' and 'dirty' COVID patients simultaneously. In the Stepdown unit, there are 28 private beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 with a maximum of 5 patients per RN. Nurses are expected to read and interpret telemetry strips as necessary. Staff have the ability to self-schedule, provided unit needs are still met. Weekend shifts consist of working every other weekend. Holiday shifts are required as part of the permanent staff holiday rotation. Scrub color is navy blue. A culture of communication exists between management and staff regarding scheduling and unit needs. Nurses must be proficient in titrating various intravenous drips as per the needs of their patients. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7. This position requires critical thinking and a collaborative approach to patient care.
