Job Title: Intermediate Care Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intermediate Care Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Massachusetts Staffing License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Experience with tracheostomy care, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, cardiac drips, BiPAP, and telemetry Description: This position is for an experienced nurse in an intermediate care setting. The unit consists of both medical-telemetry and intermediate care beds. The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:3 for intermediate care and 1:6 for medical patients. Common cases include pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease exacerbations, diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperglycemic hyperosmolar state, alcohol withdrawal, gastrointestinal bleeding, sepsis, pulmonary embolism, urinary tract infections, and respiratory failure. Nurses may be required to float to other units. Candidates must have the ability to work effectively across both medical-telemetry and intermediate care areas.
