Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; self-scheduling requests accepted to accommodate preferred schedules; variable weekend coverage based on unit needs
Highlights:
Specialized 24-bed acute leukemia and hematology unit caring primarily for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients
High-acuity medical unit with focus on blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
Goal staffing ratio of 1:4, maximum 1:5
EPIC electronic charting system
Comprehensive two-week orientation: first week Monday-Friday dayshift, second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
Strong interdisciplinary support including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and social services
Requirements:
Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required)
Minimum 2 years overall nursing experience
Required: Medical-surgical oncology experience and at least 1 year inpatient hematology oncology experience
Current acute care experience within the last 12 months in hematology oncology specialty
Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
BLS, ACLS, and ONS Chemotherapy Certification (required)
NIHSS certification (preferred)
EPIC charting experience required
Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Experience with central lines, PICC lines, ports, IV therapy, and blood product administration
Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
