Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,627 per week in Charlotte, NC

Must-Have: - Must have a teamwork approach. - Must adhere to call-off policy. - Must be able to titrate LEVO. - Must have experience in Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and Telemetry. - Must have EPIC experience. Candidates must meet behavioral expectations in all interactions with patients and staff. Unit will not accept first-time travelers. Locals accepted with rate difference. Work setting requires skills in Neuro Stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, and Telemetry. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills required include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Experience in telemetry monitoring and participation in rapid response or code teams is necessary. Cardiovascular skills should include TR Band. Must be knowledgeable in IV insulin protocols and titration of insulin drips. Experience with feeding tube care and gastrointestinal management is required. Genitourinary skills include continuous bladder irrigation and pre/post hemodialysis management. IV therapy and phlebotomy skills must include blood product administration and central line care. Medication skills required include heparin protocols, PCA, thrombolytic agents, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Neurological skills must encompass understanding aneurysms, craniotomy, CVA, intracranial bleeds, lumbar drains, post-TPA care, and seizure disorders. Plastics skills should include knowledge of surgical drains. Respiratory skills include management of BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, chest tubes, arterial blood gas interpretation, and tracheostomy care. Professional skills must cover isolation precautions and wound care. Must have teamwork approach and behavioral understanding in every patient and staff interaction. Candidates screened and reviewed against required experience will be prioritized. Weekly patient ratios average 1:4, with a maximum of 24 patients. Unit will accept contracts for 16 weeks up to a designated date. Travelers required to work a minimum of three weekend shifts every six weeks. Patient population primarily consists of neurological patients along with medical intermediate patients. Unit details and interdisciplinary support are integrated into patient care.
