Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years surgical telemetry experience, including open heart surgery and vascular. License: Compact license required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS. Must-Have: Epic experience is a hard stop requirement. Description: Perm candidates from any other facility are eligible for a travel contract if separated for at least 3 months. Travelers must be flexible to float between similar units as needed. Every other weekend availability is required. Candidates must have experience with surgical telemetry, including managing IVs and performing telemetry interpretation. Experience with myocardial infarction, primary arrhythmias, and pre/post open-heart surgery patients is essential. Candidates should also have knowledge of chest tubes, cardiac drips, and blood product administration. Responsibilities include management of dysrhythmias, performing breathing treatments, and ensuring patient safety during procedures. The nurse-to-patient ratio will be 1:4, which can increase to 1:5 during specific hours. Expected to complete documentation in a required electronic health record system. Candidates need to demonstrate strong IV skills and familiarity with telemetry monitoring. Required to perform CMV, procedural sedation monitoring, and healthcare protocols for various cardiac conditions. They will also be responsible for patient education regarding their procedures and care plans. Candidates must be open to training and adapting to unit-specific needs during shifts.
