Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,753 per week in Dayton, OH

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years in Step Down or Progressive Care Unit License: Active RN license or compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - Ventilation experience - EPIC experience - Ability to read and interpret cardiac strips - Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment Description: This role involves working in a step-down unit with a focus on team nursing. Nurses will collaborate with a PCT to care for a group of patients. The goal is to divide the workload while maintaining a high standard of patient care. Patient ratios are typically 1:4 but can go up to 1:6. Key responsibilities include caring for patients with various conditions such as COPD, CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, and diabetic ketoacidosis. The unit supports the use of advanced medical equipment and techniques like BiPAP/CPAP management and tracheostomy care. The patient population requires regular monitoring and management of cardiac drips, insulin protocols, and other specialized care. Traveling nurses may float to other units as needed. They are required to work every other weekend and holiday. Candidates must be comfortable with floating based on the job description without restrictions. Only candidates with documented experience in step-down or progressive care will be considered.
