Travel Nurse RN - Progressive Care Unit - $2,791 per week in Salem, OR

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in Medical Surgical, Telemetry, or Progressive Care Unit. Experience in neuro stepdown is preferred. License: Oregon RN license is not required at the time of submission; pending licensure is acceptable. Certifications: BLS required. Additional certifications such as ACLS and NIHSS are preferred. Must-Have: Experience managing telemetry and interpreting cardiac rhythms. Experience with non-invasive airway management and peripheral line care. Ability to activate rapid response teams and manage dysrhythmias. Experience with computerized documentation and oxygen protocols. Familiarity with cardiac drips such as nitroglycerin, Cardizem, amiodarone, and Nicardipine. Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Progressive Care Unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:3-4. The role involves managing patients with brain or nervous system disorders. It includes caring for patients with conditions such as strokes, traumatic brain injuries, and multiple sclerosis. Staff will be trained in specific protocols including NIHSS, swallow screening, and spine immobilization. The unit is certified as a Primary Stroke Center and as a Spine Center of Excellence. Staff will participate in interdisciplinary support services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Experience with bedside procedures such as NG tube placements and managing various infusions is required. The nurse will float to other areas as needed within the facility. Refusal to float may result in contract cancellation. Candidates must have tele experience and be familiar with cardiac drips and protocols.
