Description:
This position involves working in a telemetry PCU specializing in the care and management of patients.
The primary patient population includes stroke and neurology patients.
Charting experience in EPIC is essential.
The staffing ratios are typically 1:5.
The facility's staffing goal is 1:4.
The unit operates in accordance with standard isolation precautions and telemetry settings.
Emergency response and the interpretation/management of dysrhythmias are critical components of this role.
The RN will be responsible for IV therapy and medication administration, including cardiac drips (without titration).
Patients may require respiratory support, including nasal cannula and non-invasive airway management.
The position requires occasional floating within the skillset to other units.
Weekend coverage is mandatory, either every other weekend or a total of six weekend shifts in a six-week scheduling block.
Working on holidays is also a requirement.
Candidates will be expected to manage IV drips such as Cardizem, Heparin, Insulin, and others.
Support services include physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy, among others.
The patient population is primarily adults and geriatrics, with an average daily census of 25.
The unit is designed for interdisciplinary support and collaboration.
