License: Active state RN license or compact license
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, OCN (preferred)
Must-Have:
Must have oncology experience.
Sickle cell experience and chemo certification are preferred, but not required.
Must show a patient ratio experience of 1:5 in the work history for stepdown or PCU.
Must have experience with EPIC.
Must pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment.
Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips.
Travelers will float to all stepdown and advanced care units as assigned.
Description:
This role involves working in a 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit specializing in oncology and hematology patients.
The unit is mixed acuity, accommodating both medical-surgical and advanced care patients.
The position requires working with patients receiving blood products and chemotherapy.
Registered Nurses on the unit administer chemotherapy with ONS certification.
The targeted patient ratios are 1:4, but can be up to 1:5-6 depending on acuity.
Registered Nurses will be required to float to other units, including high-risk respiratory units.
Traveling staff will be the first to float as needed.
Availability to work every other weekend and holiday is required.
Candidates must be comfortable with floating based on job description.
Required documentation for lab work and assessments must be completed in a specified timeframe.
No requests for time off or schedule changes will be accepted after an offer is made.
