TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PCU RN in Kearney, Nebraska, 68847!

Job Title: PCU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 20 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Must be competent in arterial lines. Must be able to pass a skills exam during orientation. Must have a valid driver's license for verification purposes. Description: The unit serves adult patients with various diagnoses, including cardiac, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, post-stent, post-pacer placement, and renal failure. The average daily census is 24 patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 for both days and nights. RNs are required to titrate drips, including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin. A charge nurse is present on each shift, taking an assignment while overseeing the team. Certified nursing assistants are available, with a ratio of 1:12. RNs must read and interpret telemetry strips. RNs will work with various respiratory equipment and may troubleshoot high-flow devices. Every other weekend and a minimum of two holidays within the contract time are required. Floating to MedSurg or ICU to care for PCU acuity patients may be necessary. The dress code consists of navy blue scrubs. Successful candidates will be team players with good communication skills, adaptable, and open to feedback. The unit serves diverse cultural populations, and awareness of these differences is valued. Requests for time off must be communicated upfront and additional requests may not be approved. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment. Experience in improving patient satisfaction and effective communication regarding medications is a focus.
